Review: The Apache Wars

In The Apache Wars author Paul Andrew Hutton gives a riveting account of a brutal period of the American West.

Most people are averse to reading history because they believe it simply recounts dates and events. Hutton through his thorough research drawing from primary and secondary sources makes this period of history come alive. Hutton in his work provides very objective view of the actions and attitudes behind this violent period. Hutton neither demonizes nor whitewashes any party addressed.

If you’re looking for a well researched and well written account of the American West I can think of no better book to read this one.  Reading this you’ll realize more than ever that much of American history has been written in the blood spilled in wars we are too quick to forget.
